LME Library Computer Classes
Ready to learn how to open an e-mail account, or explore Facebook? Need help writing a letter in Microsoft Word or curious abut the new eReaders? Do you know someone who does? The Lillie M. Evans Library District is hosting a series of free computer classes at the library during November and December. Sign up for a class today by calling the library at 385-4540 or emailing us at lill@lmelibrary.org. All classes will be held in the library meeting room from 5:30-6:30p. See "UPCOMING EVENTS" to the left for dates. Please register for these free classes to reserve your seat!
Holiday Homecoming!
The library will have extended hours on December 1st (until 8p) during the late night shopping. Kirby will be in the library for free face painting, and we will host a variety of "Minute-to-Win-it" type games. Chase away the cold by competing in the rabid reindeer game, dancing to the Wii or eating cookies in the cookie face game. The Friends of the Library will also be holding their annual raffle so be sure to stop by the LME Library!
Food-4-Fines
 During Holiday Homecoming week we will kick-off our Food-4-Fines drive. November 28th thru December 23rd you may bring in nonperishable food items and the library will forgive $1 of your fines for each donated item. Did you find a library item that's been missing for months? Bring it in there will be a maximum $5 in fines per item and be eligible for Food-4-Fines forgiveness! Don't have any fines? No problem, we will still be happy to accept your donation! All donations will go to the local food bank to benefit those in need.
Note: Fines will not be removed from unreturned items or items returned damaged.
Santa Letters!
 We are sponsoring the "Santa Letters" campaign again this year! Letters will be accepted from December 1st-20th and may receive a reply from Santa! Please make sure a name and address are included on each letter. Drop completed letters in Santa's special mailbox at the library.
Winter Storytime (3-5 y/o)
 Winter Storytime for 3-5 year olds will begin on December 6th. It will run for 5 weeks, Tuesdays, Dec. 6, 13, Jan. 10,17,24 @ 9:30AM. (Note the split in session dates).
You may sign up your 3-5 year old by phone at 385-4540, in person or register online. Space is limited so please register ASAP.
Gift Boxes Craft (Must be 13 years or older)
 December 10th at 9:30a we will be teaching a class on how to make pillow shaped gift boxes. Each person will be able to make three different size boxes that they will be able to take home. We will also make one square box as well, it's the perfect size for your glass photo ornament! Please register in advance to ensure we have enough supplies for all participants. After School Specials!
 Join us December 15th, 3:20 - 4:30p and make greeting cards! Grades K-5th can come and make a greeting card with envelope to mail to their friends and family this holiday season.
January 19th, 3:20 - 5p the library will be hosting a Chinese New Years Party! K-5th graders can learn about this holiday and make a craft to take home. On February 16th at 3:20 we will be showing a movie for K-5th graders. For movie title please contact the library at 309-385-4540.
LME Biggest Loser "Season 3"
 Back by popular demand, we will be hosting our 3rd "season" of the LME Biggest Loser. This time we will be weighing in on Wednesdays and on a standard digital scale which should be much faster. We will start weigh-ins January 11th. January is a great time to get started on those "get healthy" New Years resolutions! All participant information will be kept confidential. Winter Reading Program - Read to a BINGO!
 Stop by the library anytime starting January 30th to pick up your Bingo card. There will be groups of K-5th, 6-8th, and 9-12th grades. Contact the library near the end of January for program details! |
