It's a not-so-sweet end to the year for First Solar, which has had to revise downwards its 2011 revenue guidance and implement a 1.5% workforce reduction, and for Solon which has found itself having to file for insolvency. But as always, there's some good news to be had in this, our last PV-Tech newscast before the Christmas break. Global installs in 2011 will be up 34% on 2010's figures, says IHS, while the ever-intriguing UK market has seen record installations of over 80MW in one week as it prepared for FiT revisions. We've got plenty more in here to keep you entertained -- tune in on January 13th for your next PV-Tech Newscast, and Happy Holidays!
