Finding Purpose
Dear <<First Name>>,
I love New Years. I celebrate them all, the Jewish new year, the Chinese new year, and of course January 1st. My love of new year celebrations is centered around the idea of having a set period of time to reflect on the past and look towards to the future. I always try to remind myself that this process doesn’t need to be done at any specific time of the year, or even just once a year.
I hope this next year shapes up to be filled with good work towards meeting goals small and large with more highs than lows. Conventional wisdom says to simply take that first step towards one goal at a time, and that the journey is more important than the destination. I believe we do learn the most by the journey. But when times are tough and you are having a hard time justifying taking even that first step, I think it is also helpful to think about the destination. Projecting on where you are headed and why you are on this path can help you to face and overcome obstacles.
This year, try keeping the destination as the light at the end of the tunnel while appreciating the lessons the tunnel has to offer.
We wish everyone a very fulfilling and exciting path for 2012!
All the best,
Jessica LeRoy { clinical director }
