News through March...
The best year ever? The Iron Duke has won the
RT BookReviews' Reviewers' Choice award for Paranormal Romance. This means that my plans for RT have changed a little. Although I still won't be attending the full conference or the book signing, I will be at the award ceremony, the Samhain steampunk party, and in the lobby/bar areas on Thursday evening and Friday morning. If you are at the convention, please feel free to stop by and say hi, because I'd love to meet you! I believe that Berkley plans to have an excerpt booklet available that includes the first two chapters of
Heart of Steel. I'll be happy to sign those for you, too!
The Iron Duke and
"Here There Be Monsters" have also been chosen in the Best Paranormal Romance and Best Novella in
All About Romance's Annual Reader Poll. AAR served as my introduction to the romance reading community online, and to be honored by the readers in this way now ... I cannot express how much that means to me. Thank you all.
To say that I'm astonished by reader response to my new series is understating my reaction. I want to thank all of you for your support and interest, and I swear to you that I will write the best books that I can, so that my 2011 releases won't let you down.
Foreign Language Rights: I'm pleased to announce that German publisher Egmont has acquired the translation rights to
The Iron Duke and
Heart of Steel. They will be published in mass-market through their LYX imprint. Polis
h publisher Dwojka Bez Sternika has also bought translation rights for Poland ... which means awesome new covers will be coming soon! I'll announce the release dates as soon as I know them.
Why so blue? In anticipation of
Demon Marked's September release,
my website (and this newsletter) went through a recent facelift. The changes are only cosmetic, however -- and it should be just as easy to use as before. As always, if you have any suggestions for my site or if there's something you'd like to see added, please feel free to contact me and let me know.
Coming up...
RWA Nationals: I've still got my head in the sand, writing away, and probably won't pop up again until this summer during the RWA conference in New York City. Although I won't be officially attending the conference (which means no Literacy Signing, but I will be at the Berkley book signing), I'll be making myself available several times throughout the week to meet up with readers for drinks, to sign books, or just hang out.
