Greetings friends from Macedonia in the heart of the snowy Balkan region.

We hope this e-mail finds you well. Here's a little update on what's happening in the life of Glasnost in Macedonia.

Translation of The Gospel of John  - We're VERY excited to be launching a modern translation of Johns gospel in the Macedonian language. A team from Glasnost including Alek, Sonia and Tina have been working hard on the publication and we'll be printing around 1000 copies in the coming weeks. The aim is to connect young people in Macedonia with the key stories of Jesus in a language and format that they will enjoy. The majority of Macedonians in this country profess to be Christians, but have never read the bible. Tina has been working on the design as in a creative format and we'll be giving them to friends and family in the context of relationship. Please pray for us and the publication as we start to introduce key concepts about sprituatlity and truth to people from the gospel of John.

Shutka - It’s been a year since we started going to Shutka each Thursday and hang out with the kids from the neighborhood close to the church. Together with the guys that work in the preschool (Dijana, Gricko and Ivana) we try to connect with the kids and just share the love of the Father with them. Usually we play some games, we sing songs and have a short message that they will understand.

Especially in winter time, there are between 30 and 40 kids and teenagers each Thursday and being so loud, wild and energetic, it’s never boring. Many times we try to find clothes, socks and shoes and just give to those who don’t have. Kids wearing big size boots without socks in the winters cold or coming just in a simple sweater in the snow it’s nothing unusual. One thing that is very important for us is that we want to treat this kids and teenagers the best that we can and that’s why sometimes we love to prepare dinner for them, or buy a cake, set the tables and just treat them like most valuable guests. It’s not always easy but with each time we go to meet them they steal our hearts and makes us love them more and more.

Glasnost leadership weekends - We had a fantastic time with Jon Petersen from 24-7 Prayer in November gathering all the leaders from the Glansnost communities in Skopje, Veles, Ohrid and Gevgelija. Our next weekend is THIS WEEKEND and we'll be gathering the leaders 5-6 times a year for fellowship, discipleship together.
