Crayons to Computers
I recently volunteered at Crayons to Computers, a Cincinnati organization that provides school supplies to teachers free of charge. Teachers can fill a shopping cart with supplies multiple times throughout the year. The supplies they have for teachers range from paper, pencils, erasers, and crayons to backpacks and surplus materials like yarn supplied by businesses and individuals. Through donations and the help of volunteers who sort the supplies and stock the shelves, C2C distributed $11.5 million worth of free school supplies through 18,971 teacher visits during the 2009-2010 school year. I didn't know much about them before my volunteer stint but I walked away very impressed.

Why is English so hard to learn?
Delay, Beauty and a Prayer
A mere two weeks grace period from our landlord did not lessen the beauty and grace of our mother who said grace over the meal.
Listen to this month's example.

Time Management Tip
"Turn Hangers Backwards"
This month I made my seasonal closet switch for my clothes, bringing the fall and winter stuff downstairs to my bedroom and the summer items back to my upstairs closet. This spring when I did the same thing in reverse, I turned all the hangers backwards in my bedroom closet. After I wore an outfit, I'd hang it back in the closet but with the hanger now facing forwards. Why do this? Well, when I switched the closet this month, any hanger that was still backwards clearly showed that I had not worn that item all season. Proving I hadn't worn something made it very easy to take the item off the hanger and give it to GoodWill.
