Day 7 - Brazil
Date entered by ABWE as a mission field: 1942
Major ABWE Ministries: Church planting, theological education, literature production and distribution, medical and aviation evangelism, camps, deaf ministries, street kids outreach ministry
Brazil covers half the land and contains half the population of South America. In Brazil, ABWE has more than 120 missionaries working in nine areas, but the need for more churches is urgent. All nine ABWE fields in Brazil need many more laborers, and many other areas are ready to be entered for church planting.
Dave and Patty Zemmer
-
Cal and Carol Clark visited the Zemmers in Sao Paulo last month. Cal is the new ABWE Brazil administrator; they came to visit the field council.
-
At the end of October, Dave and Patty will travel to southern Brazil for the ABWE All Brazil Conference that is held every three years.
-
Pray for Dave’s completion of the master’s course he is taking and completion of his counseling certification.
-
Pray for ministry plans for 2012, particularly for wisdom in knowing how and where to invest time. There are two churches that are committed to holding counseling training next year.
Joe and Meta Arthur
-
Joe and Meta have the help of believers from several mature congregations in their new church in Sao Paulo. These believers help in children’s work, evangelism, music ministry, preaching and teaching.
-
There is a steady stream of visitors thanks to the church's excellent locaton. There are now three classes held for adults at all different walks of spiritual life.
John and Jean Peterson
-
John and Jean’s son, James, preached at an evening service at his church. The Holy Spirit worked in hearts and for an hour after the message ended, people were still coming forward to pray.
-
John and Jean still plan to be in Brazil in January.
Lloyd and Athena Peace
-
Lloyd passed his bi-annual flight review. He will soon take his instrument recurrent training from the same friend, who is offering his services for free.
-
An anonymous donor will match dollar for dollar for aviation fundraising, up to $50,000, through the end of the year. Currently, Lloyd and Athena have $26,939.03.
